"Find another great beachfront Airbnb. You have one week. Go!"
I am so dead.
My Airbnb sleuthing skills were really tested with this one. I used my usual parameters.
- 2-3 hours away from Metro Manila
- Pet-friendly ('coz me!)
- Entered dates
- 2 adult hoomans, 1 lovable doggo
- Entire place
- With AC ('coz y'know, Philippines balmy and humid weather is only tolerable with the help of an air conditioning system)
This is why I had to resort to removing some parameters to get a listing that checked most of the boxes.
Thank you jeebuz, that worked! I was able to find the perfect place. It was a check in all of the boxes!
Perfect!
So I had hooman talk to the listing owner to vouch that I am a good doggo and if they can allow little ole me into their home.
And she agreed!
The Place: This 1 bedroom flat was perched atop of one of Anilao's many beach-facing cliffs.
We had the whole place to ourselves, with our own patio w/ outdoor sitting, grilling station, dining table for 2, kitchen, toilet & bath, and bedroom.
Quaint kitchen with a floating island where we did food preps
Me strollin' and observin' like a supervisor
Toilet on the right and bath on the left
Sweeeet windows
Slides all the way to open a yuuuuge gap
Ocean-views throughout the flat
The Room: Enter the sliding doors into a huge bedroom with a reading nook for 2.
Sliding doors
Which actually came in handy because it rained for a couple of hours so that entertained him for quite a bit.
The People: We met the caretaker, Ate Sarah and her friends/ colleagues taking care of the listing. They were nice enough to help us bring our stuff down to the flat and also get some workers who were pounding their hammers away on some construction that was happening nearby.

Amenities and Things to Do:
- Watch the sunset
- Water activities (for an additional fee, unless you bring your own sports equipment, e.g. kayak, paddle board, jetski, sail boat)
- Snorkeling & swimming (hooman 2 brought her own gear and aqua shoes)
- Have your morning and afternoon coffee on the patio and enjoy the Anilao wind
Rise and shine coffee from the inside...
... or outside!
- Stargazing (and get accompanied by fireflies, just make sure to lather or spray some bug repellent on, because, y'know, nature.)
- Grill & chill to your hearts content at the patio
From breakfast...
... to dinner
Getting there: Quick trip, if you come from Makati and will drive there, just take Skyway, SLEX, STAR, then boom, ya there son!
Google maps it here if you will use a private car or will use public transport from your point of origin. The listing owner will give you the specifics once you've booked it. If you use Waze, look for Anilao Beach Club as an end point.
Pup-pup tips:
- Not wheelchair or old hooman accessible so best to ensure you can trek a couple of steps before booking this. Which leads me to my next tip:
- The nearest store is a 5 min drive away (not to mention a couple of steps too) so make sure all your goodies and food needs are in your trip and food bag before heading over to the listing
- Bring aqua shoes! Beach is not fine sand, as typical with beaches in this area.
- If you plan on bringing your own cookware, make sure they are induction-friendly.
Where to Book? Via Airbnb, just sign up here to get a PHP 1,600.00 discount on your first Airbnb booking, then look for the "Anilao Romantic Hideaway" listing in Mabini!
Type "Anilao Romantic Hideaway" on the Airbnb searchbar!
Price: We paid approximately PHP 2,500 per night we stayed in this listing.
Pup-pup rating: 5 paws! I loved the beach, the hooms loved the place, and, it was extremely affordable at less than Php3000 a night! We loved it so much, we rented their other listing which we will visit this October, I am sooooo stoked to go back!
